The following projects received TIME Center funding during the 2008-2009 school year.  Please contact the named individual for information.

AWS Certification  

Mr. Schweinsberg attended class and completed his certification as Associate Welding Inspector meeting the requirements for AWS QC1 Standard for AWS certification.  He will now be able to certify his welding students.

Efficient Office Building Design

Mr. Gilbert researched, interviewed engineers and developed curriculum for engineering a more efficient office building design.  The new curriculum includes the guidelines that are being adopted by Architects and Engineers that will have a profound impact on a building's “Carbon Footprint.”

Workforce Needs

MasterCam Update

Ms. Crook received instruction on MasterCam software, updated the software in her lab and prepared new lesson plans for use with her students.  Lessons will be piloted during the 2009-2010 school year.

Robotics Project

Dr. Shore added a robotics unit to the Towson University Middle Grades Partnership program (a summer camp experience for Baltimore City middle school students).  Funds were used for robotics kits and the robotics instructor.  The project also included two HS students who served as mentors.

Manufacturing Processes

Mr. Nastvogel of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute is pursuing a manufacturing process unit with his students during the 2009-2010 school year as part of the school’s ongoing project:  Design of Places, Things, and Systems to Meliorate Baltimore Neighborhoods.
